Sandwich Drive

One evening while watching a show about life and its travails the Youth boys collectively came to the realization that poverty is an epidemic that can be cured.
Love is the answer, however the Youth, perplexed by this abstract yet simple concept found that the pain in their heart urged them to do something about it.
The youth combed over numerous ways to help the homeless and were inspired by the Lord's own efforts and Love of Grama Seva. Service with love and a smile.
Empowered with this new burst of energy the Youth chose to reach out to the homeless people of downtown Toronto and began to prepare and deliver nutritious vegetarian meals
Every Friday prior to delivery the boys meet and prepare the meals. Then on Saturday the youth load an SUV full of meals and head downtown. They travel on foot targeting areas that are most under-served. These include major streets such as Sherbourne, Church, Jarvis, Queen, King, Dundas, Gerard and Young Street. Furthermore, specific locations are targeted, including areas such around the Eatons Centre and Nathan Phillips Square.
If there are any sandwiches left over the Youth then go to the Salvation Army shelters and donate the rest. This experience has allowed the youths to not only give back to the community, by serving those that need aid the most, but also mature and grow as individuals. It has taught the boys the importance of selfless service and Service with Love and a Smile.
