As our gift to Sai Baba on his 85th birthday, we, the youth girls, took on a vow to turn our lives into His message. From this vow blossomed our Year of Sadhana project in which we have committed ourselves to organize and participate in at least one Sadhana project for each month of our beloved Lord's 85th year on this earth. The following are the Sadhana activities that we have not only committed to, but also welcome you to join.

Walk for Values May 2011

Baba says “True education is not for a mere living, but for a fuller and meaningful life.” Sai Baba has given us all the basic necessities to get an education. We are so grateful for his love and protection. Thousands of children across the world have the love for learning in their hearts, but due to war, poverty and natural disasters have lost the basic tools for education. In order to help these children, in the month of March, the youth girls will be making 108 school kits to send overseas. Schools kits will have pencils, pens, erasers and other school items children need.
Sai Baba says "Look out into the universe and contemplate the glory of God. Observe the stars, millions of them, twinkling in the night sky, all with a message of unity, part of the very nature of God." It is our job as Sai youth to not only help others but also help keep Mother Nature healthy. To celebrate Earth Day, the youth girls will be planting trees either at a selected location.

20 years back, 3 in 4 who were diagnosed with breast cancer passed away. Thanks to awareness and support from our community, today, 3 in 4 who are diagnosed survive. The CIBC Run for the Cure for Breast Cancer is a yearly event where participants gather and run with a single goal: for a future without breast cancer. The youth girls will also participate in the Enbridge CN Tower Climb which raises awareness and funds for the United Way.
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) affects the brain and spinal cord and progressively damages one's mental and physical abilities. With the sad news of no cure or effective treatment and no depth of its root cause, approximately 2750 Canadians today strive to survive with this disease. The youth girls will help raise awareness of this disease. The artwork composed by Sai students will be made available to the ALS Society of Canada for future events related to ALS. ALS Understanding is a time for us to learn and understand the impact of this disease in our community and the research realm; to bring about motivation, determination, and faith to find a solution to the disease.
